Border guards bust drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam
VOV.VN - Border guards in the central province of Nghe An have successfully smashed a drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam, detaining a Lao national and seizing 6,000 synthetic drug pills.
According to initial information, the border guards caught red-handed a Lao citizen attempting to carry a huge amount of drugs through the forest at Nhot Lot Town in My Ly commune of Ky Son district on June 1.
The suspect was identified as Va Xenh Tho, 31, residing in Muang Kuan district of Houaphan province in Laos.
Searching his bag, relevant forces discovered 6,000 pills of synthetic drugs.
The Lao national later confessed that he had attempted to transport the drugs from Laos to Vietnam where the drugs would later be sold.
A further investigation into the case is now underway.
