Quang Nam border guards bust large drug trafficking ring based in Laos
VOV.VN - Border guards operating in the central province of Quang Nam said on May 30 that they successfully cracked down on a large drug trafficking ring from Laos, arresting a total of eight Laotian nationals in the process.
According to details given following the arrests, at 11:00 a.m. on May 26 the border guards stopped a suspicious vehicle as it was travelling through Nam Giang International Border Gate.
After searching their vehicle, which was registered in Laos, they subsequently found and seized a total of 198 kg of drugs, including 44 cakes of heroin and 181.75 kg of different kinds of drugs.
The case is currently under further investigation.
