Bengal tiger gives birth to quintuplets at Dong Nai Zoo

VOV.VN - A rare white Bengal tiger imported from abroad has given birth to five white cubs at Mango Garden Zoo in the southern province of Dong Nai.

According to the zoo’s management board, this marks the fifth rare animal which has successfully given birth in the ecotourism site. Currently, the cubs are being cared for by local veterinarians and staff of the zoo.

The successful breeding and nurturing of the rare white Bengal tigers serves to affirm the country’s efforts in protecting and conserving the wildlife species, while resolutely combating the poaching of endangered species.

The Bengal tiger is normally found in Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, China, and Nepal. The world is currently home to as few as 3,200 white tigers following a sharp reduction since 1990.

Mango Garden is a semi-wildlife zoo which has been developed at an ecotourism site of the same name. Many rare animals from all over the world have been brought here for conservation, breeding, education, and public entertainment purposes.

The zoo also boasts many rare animals from Africa, including the black leopard, rhinoceros, brown bear, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, and arapaima gigas, along with different types of bird species, such as peacocks, Lady Amherst’s Pheasant, flamingos, and swans.

This ecotourism site is a popular weekend and public holiday destination for many people, conveniently located just an hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City.
