AkzoNobel paint to protect Vietnam’s most beautiful lighthouse
VOV.VN - AkzoNobel the world’s leading paints and coatings company which owns famous brands such as Dulux, takes pride in repainting the Dai Lanh-Mui Dien lighthouse with Dulux Weathershield-one of the top quality exterior paint types-to help protect the surface of the lighthouse against the severe weather of Vietnam’s central coast.
AkzoNobel are giving the lighthouse a fresh coat of weatherproof paint under the framework of a chain of “Let’s Colour” projects to protect famous works in countries around the world.
As one of the five oldest lighthouses in the country, the more-than-100-year-old lighthouse is located at the cape of Dai Lanh (also known as Mui Dien) in Dong Hoa District in the South Central coast province of Phu yen.
It is a significant historical and cultural project and holds an important position for maritime traffic. It is also a symbol of Vietnam’s easternmost point – the first place to see the sunrise on the nation’s mainland every day.
The lighthouse has become a special tourism attraction as visitors can contemplate the romantic scenery of a clear blue sea surrounded by a dramatic mountain landscape. However, Dai Lanh lighthouse has been struggling against the harsh climate with the most sunshine hours and the highest rainfall in the country. That’s why AkzoNobel has been repainting the lighthouse with Dulux Weathershield since 2017.
Pamela Phua, general director of AkzoNobel Vietnam, says the company is proud to help by protecting and decorating the world’s famous architectural projects with durable and colourful painting products.
It is a great honour for AkzoNobel to do the painting job in a bid to protect Dai Lanh lighthouse, one of the most iconic projects in Vietnam, which is of historic, cultural and tourism significance.
Previously, the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts were also viewed as the prominent architectural works repainted by AkzoNobel Vietnam, which were highly rated for their efficiency and aesthetics.
