Air passengers expected to surge sharply during April 30 – May 1 holiday
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s aviation industry forecasts a significant surge in passengers and flights nationwide during the upcoming April 30 - May 1 holiday period.

According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), this year’s holiday period extends for five days, from April 30 to May 4, that coincides with the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - 2025). The peak travel period is expected to last six days, from April 29 to May 4.
During this time, the total number of passengers is projected to reach 2.4 million, averaging 400,000 per day.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam reports that domestic airlines will operate 7,536 flights, or 685 flights per day, marking a 21% increase compared to the same period last year. A total of 1.5 million seats will be available, up 20–22% year on year.
Flights to/from Ho Chi Minh City dominate air routes, accounting for 5,083 flights (an average of 462 flights/day) and over 1 million seats. Notably, the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route will see 1,261 flights (up 16%) and 305,000 seats (up 11% from last year).
All airports across the country are anticipated to operate 13,440 aircraft takeoffs and landings, or 2,240 each day. The busiest day is projected to be April 29, with 2,400 takeoffs and landings, and 420,000 passengers.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City will be the busiest, with approximately 520 takeoffs/landings, and 95,000 passengers (up 35%). Meanwhile, Noi Bai Internaitonal Airport in Hanoi will operate 370 takeoffs/landings with 68,000 passengers (up 40-45%).
Other busy airports across the country on this occasion will be Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, Phu Bai, Phu Cat, Lien Khuong, and Con Dao.
