AIBD honours VOV with jury award at Asia Media Summit 2025
VOV.VN - The Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) has presented its international awards for 2025 to excellent radio and television productions made by its members, including Voice of Vietnam Radio (VOV).

The awards were given to outstanding winners at the 20th Asia Media Summit (AMS) held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on July 22 - 23.
The radio broadcast Good Land Attracts Birds produced by VOV’s News and Current Affairs Channel (VOV1) won the AIBD International Media Jury Award, one of the four main awards this year.
The production tells the story of 82-year-old Vu Thi Khiem from the former Vinh Phuc province, who devoted her entire life to planting trees, protecting the forest canopy, and building a sanctuary for storks. She holds a steadfast belief that all animals have the right to live in their natural habitat.
Alongside VOV, KBS of the Republic of Korea won the Best TV Programme 2025 category with Vocanoes and Us - Mount Yasur, while the National Radio of Cambodia’s Phnom Da Temple, the Birthplace of the Khmer People claimed its title in the Best Radio Programme 2025 category.
At the closing ceremony, AMS 2025 adopted the Angkor Initiative 2.0 Declaration, vowing to address the challenges posed by misinformation and fake news.
The summit, jointly held by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development and the Ministry of Information of Cambodia, brought together around 500 delegates, including broadcast leaders, policymakers, media experts, academics, and content creators from within and beyond the Asia-Pacific region, to address emerging challenges and seize opportunities in the evolving media landscape.
Philomena Gnanapragasam, Secretary-General and CEO of AIBD, emphasised that over the past two decades, AMS has served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and professional growth in the media industry.
According to her, the rise of AI-generated misinformation and fake news is eroding public trust in journalism and media. They are navigating a rapidly changing environment, which demand persistence, creativity, and integrity. She expressed confidence that AIBD member states would act together in fulfilling their shared responsibility.
