61 hospitalised in suspected food poisoning linked to bánh mì shop

VOV.VN - As many as 61 people have been hospitalised with symptoms of suspected food poisoning after eating bánh mì (baguette), a popular dish in Vietnam, from the Q.H. shop in Ea Drang commune, central Dak Lak province.

A leader of the Ea H’leo Medical Centre said on March 30 that the facility had received 61 patients suffering from severe abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting after consuming the food from the shop.

Of the total, four patients have been discharged, six transferred to higher-level hospitals, and 51 remain under treatment.

The first case was recorded on March 28, with dozens more patients admitted later with similar symptoms.

Local authorities collected patient specimens and food samples from the shop for testing to determine the cause. They also inspected the premises and ordered a temporary suspension of operations pending test results.
