53 more community cases confirmed, with Bac Giang suffering most infections at 48

VOV.VN - Vietnam recorded 53 further fresh domestic COVID-19 cases on June 2 morning in three localities, with Bac Ninh hotspot continuing registering the growing number of local transmissions at 48, while three were found in Bac Ninh, and two in Hanoi.

All the new cases in Bac Giang were detected in isolation and lockdown areas related to workers working at industrial zones, while those in Bac Ninh and Hanoi were identified as F1 contacts with previously confirmed patients.

The country has so far documented more than 6,118 cases of local transmission, and 1,507 infected ones.

June 1 also saw the nation record the 48th COVID-19 related death, the 13th in the ongoing coronavirus outbreak that began in late April.

Report from the ministry’s Medical Examination Administration showed that the country has seen 3,043 recoveries.

The national tally now reached 7,625, with the number of cases found since the recurrence of the virus in late April standing at 4,548.

In recent times, Ho Chi Minh City have seen the growing number of local infections, with the majority relating to the Revival Ekklesia Mission.

According to Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long, the Covid-19 cluster at the Revival Ekklesia Mission is the most dangerous and the most difficult to contain.
With the ongoing development, more clusters are likely to appear in the city, with the source of transmission being people who were infected with the virus from those originally linked to the mission cluster, the minister said.

The southern metropolis has registered a total of 227 domestic cases of COVID-19 since the outbreak related to the Revival Ekklesia Mission was detected last week.

A total of 29,773 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Yen Bai and Lao Cai, including 507 inoculated with full two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

Notably, fourteen localities have gone through 14 days without recording any new local cases.
