21 rescued after coach rear-ends truck on expressway in Dong Nai, driver dies

VOV.VN - Twenty-one passengers were rescued after a coach rear-ended a truck on the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway early May 5, injuring several passengers, with the driver later dying of injuries.

The crash occurred at around 2 a.m. as the bus struck the rear of a truck travelling in the same direction, from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai city in southern Vietnam. The impact severely damaged the front of the bus, trapping passengers inside.

Rescue Team No. 4 under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Division of Dong Nai Police was dispatched to the scene and freed those trapped.

A total of 21 people were rescued from the bus, with several seriously injured and taken to hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
