20 nominees vie for Golden Globe Science and Technology Awards 2025
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, has announced the shortlist of 20 outstanding candidates for the final round of the Golden Globe Science and Technology Awards 2025.

The nominees are talented young scientists under the age of 35, who are currently studying, conducting research, or working both in Vietnam and abroad across five key fields: information technology – digital transformation and automation; medical and pharmaceutical technology; biotechnology; environmental technology; and new materials technology.
Notably, this year’s Top 20 features five young scientists working at prestigious universities and technology institutes in advanced science and technology countries such as Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Sweden, the United States, and Australia. Their presence underscores the awards’ role not only in honouring domestic talent but also in connecting Vietnamese intellectuals worldwide, highlighting the credibility, influence, and strong international integration spirit of the programme.
According to the organisers, the 2025 awards attracted exceptional interest, with 96 applications submitted, of which 83 were eligible, an increase of 21 compared to 2024. The candidates stand out for their excellence, with numerous patents, publications in leading international journals, and practical innovations to their credit.
This year’s applicants include 61 PhDs, 17 Master’s degree holders, and 5 Bachelor’s degree holders. Remarkably, 26 candidates are currently researching and working in scientifically advanced countries such as Japan, Singapore, the RoK, France, Sweden, the United States, and Australia.
The Awards Council will convene again in late September to select the 10 most exceptional faces to be nominated to the Secretariat of the Youth Union Central Committee for the presentation of the Golden Globe Science and Technology Awards 2025.
First launched in 2003, the annual Golden Globe Awards are jointly organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Ministry of Science and Technology to honour outstanding young scientists under 35 with remarkable achievements in science and technology. The awards aim to inspire creativity and scientific research among Vietnamese youth in fields such as IT, medicine and pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, environment, and new materials.
