People support reorganisation of state apparatus, administrative units: Party Secretary
VOV.VN - The results of a public opinion survey on the reorganisation of the state apparatus and administrative units show overwhelming support from citizens, officials, and Party members, and this presents a golden opportunity to accelerate national development, according to a Party Secretary.

Party Secretary and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission on Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Nguyen Trong Nghia was speaking at a conference of rapporteurs held in Ho Chi Minh City on March 8.
At the conference, Nghia provided an overview of the initial results in state apparatus restructuring and the challenges faced by information and mass mobilisation efforts in the new context.
In recent times, the information and mass mobilisation sector has conducted a public opinion survey on streamlining governmental structures. The results indicate broad support from both the public and the international community. While officials, civil servants, and Party members initially had concerns about job and position changes, they have now largely reached a consensus for the common good.
Through the survey, they agree that this represents a historic and golden chance to drive national development, stated Nghia.
He went on to note that people have recently shown a keen interest in news concerning the merger of provinces, the restructuring of district-level administrations, and the consolidation of commune-level administrative units. The restructuring efforts, he said, are being carried out in line with Conclusion 121 of the Party Central Committee and Conclusion 127 of the Politburo.
Nghia acknowledged that the decisions were made within a short timeframe but emphasised that they were based on comprehensive research, taking into account various factors, including geographical location, natural conditions, economic scale, and development level, as well as international experience.
Accordingly, the reorganisation of administrative units complies with legal regulations regarding natural geography and population size, with a particular focus on economic scale and workforce qualifications.
The mergers therefore aim to expand new development spaces, leverage comparative advantages, and align with local and national development goals in the new era, he noted, adding that restructuring must balance the needs of different localities, thereby fostering mutual growth and self-reliance.
Regarding the new administrative structure, the Party Secretary said that decentralisation would be strongly implemented by granting more authority to commune-level governments in order to follow the principle of local decision-making, implementation, and accountability which in turn will refine the institutional framework.
