Vietnamese and Cuban Party officials hold online talks
VOV.VN - Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations Le Hoai Trung on February 29 held an online conversation with Head of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Emilio Lozada Garcia.
During the talks, the two sides informed each other about the outstanding situation of each party and each country, as well as about the major work of the two parties recently. They spent time to review the co-operative relationship, overall plan direction, and major focuses in the relationship between the two parties.
They positively evaluated the co-ordination efforts between the two agencies in common political tasks as a means of contributing to strengthening the special friendship and implementing the Cooperation Agreement between the two parties, as well as to the success of important activities relating to external relations in 2023, especially those in celebration of the 50th anniversary of leader Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated zone in Southern Vietnam (September 1973 - 2023).
The two sides also agreed to further enhance their roles in advising and accelerating the implementation of high-level agreements reached by their Party and State leaders; continue collaborating to promote the removal of obstacles to further step up links in trade, production, and investment between the two countries; and create conditions for businesses to operate more effectively, especially in the agricultural sector.
Trung expressed his sympathy for the difficulties faced by the Cuban people and outlined his belief that the Caribbean nation will overcome current difficulties and challenges.
He also emphasized that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always support the just revolutionary cause of the Party, State, and people of Cuba.
