Vietnam welcomes US-Iran ceasefire agreement
VOV.VN - Vietnam welcomes the ceasefire agreement reached between the United States and Iran, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang.
Responding on April 8 to the announcement that the US and Iran had reached a temporary ceasefire agreement on April 7 (local time), the spokesperson said Vietnam welcomed the agreement, describing it as an important step toward easing tensions and restoring peace, stability and security in the Middle East.
Vietnam called on all parties to continue exercising restraint, act responsibly and avoid actions that could complicate the situation; respect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries; ensure the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as maritime security and freedom of navigation in the region; and step up dialogue to seek peaceful and lasting solutions to differences on the basis of international law and the United Nations Charter, for the benefit of all parties and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
