Vietnam welcomes Israel – Hamas ceasefire agreement

VOV.VN - Vietnam welcomes the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, viewing it as a positive step toward ending the ongoing cycle of violence and minimising civilian casualties.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang was speaking in response to reporters’ question regarding the announcement that Israel and Hamas have recently reached a ceasefire agreement to end the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Vietnam highly appreciates the mediation and reconciliation efforts made by countries contributing to facilitating the agreement, she said.

She called on the relevant parties to seriously implement the agreement and create favourable conditions for achieving a two-State solution – a foundation for a lasting and sustainable peace in the region.

Vietnam supports and stays ready to make a positive contribution to international efforts aimed at reconstructing the Gaza Strip in the aftermath of the conflict, based on respect for national sovereignty, international law, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, said the spokesperson.

In recent times, Vietnam has been closely monitoring the Israel–Palestine conflict and has expressed deep concern over the loss of life, particularly among civilians and children. Vietnam continues to call on the international community to promote dialogue, prevent further violence, and provide timely humanitarian assistance to people affected in the conflict zone.
