Vietnam pledges optimal conditions for Turkish groups: PM Chinh

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Government pledges to accompany and create favourable conditions for foreign investors, including Turkish groups, seeking to develop their business investment activities.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made the statement while receiving leaders of Hayat Holding Group and Turkish Airlines Group of Türkiye on November 29 in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

At the meetings, the Vietnamese Government leader responded to the proposals and recommendations put forward by businesses.

Currently, the group has 41 production facilities and factories located across 17 countries. In Vietnam, Hayat Holding has invested in building factories in Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces.

Hayat Holding represents a multinational economic group which has experienced nearly 90 years of establishment and development. It operates in many fields such as consumer goods, furniture, and logistics, with it also being the fifth largest manufacturer of baby diapers in the world.

In March, 2022, the Hayat Kimya Vietnam Co., Ltd. factory was inaugurated with a total investment of US$250 million.

At the meeting, Hayat Holding’s leaders expressed great appreciation for the investment environment, open procedures, and talented human resources in Vietnam, especially where the group has its factory based at the Becamex Binh Phuoc industrial park.

They said that investment activities in Vietnam are one of the most effective activities of the group and will continue to recruit more Vietnamese people as a result.

The group's leaders also presented a number of co-operation programmes and projects to contribute to social security and stated several proposals for the group's activities in the nation.

The Vietnamese Government chief highly appreciated Hayat Holding's performance over recent times and welcomed the group's investment and construction of a factory in the country.

He therefore expressed confidence that the well-developed relationship, trust, and comprehensive ties that exist between the nation and Türkiye will serve as a solid foundation for the two countries' businesses to expand linkages and the group’s operations in the Vietnamese market.

PM Chinh requested that Hayat Holding continue investment research and co-operate with a number of potential and capable Vietnamese partners to expand and develop key areas, thereby serving as a bridge in which to bring potential investors from both inside and outside Türkiye to invest and do business in the country.

He also underlined the need to ramp up collaboration efforts, move toward technology transfer, and help Vietnamese businesses to deeply engage in regional and world production chains.

Turkish Airlines is a long-standing airline of Türkiye. By the end of 2022, Turkish Airlines' market value stood at roughly US$10.6 billion, making it among the 10 most valuable airlines in the world.

Turkish Airlines is currently operating the only direct flight between Vietnam and Türkiye, including Hanoi - Istanbul and Ho Chi Minh City - Istanbul.

The Vietnamese Government leader appreciated the effectiveness of Turkish Airlines' activities, all of which has contributed to the development of their air transport and tourism industry over recent times.

Emphasizing co-operation to contribute to promoting tourism recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, PM Chinh announced the nation’s new visa policy, saying that Vietnamese and Turkish authorities are looking at ways to further facilitate visas for tourists from the two countries.

Welcoming the signing of co-operation documents between Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines as part of this occasion, PM Chinh suggested that Turkish Airlines continue to beef up links and closely co-ordinate with Vietnam Airlines and relevant ministries and branches of Vietnam. This should be done in a bid to promote images of the two countries' countries and people, thereby encouraging mutual tourism growth.

The group's leaders outlined that they will work alongside Vietnam Airlines and related agencies to increase the frequency of regular flights between the two countries moving forward, as well as augment co-operation in tourism development between the two nations.
