Three police officers deployed to UNMISS mission in South Sudan
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Public Security on April 25 handed over the State President’s decisions to three officers to undertake peacekeeping missions at the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

The three officers selected for the mission are Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Pham Van Doan, Head of Faculty, People's Police Academy of Politics; Senior Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Head of Faculty, People's Security Academy; and Captain Tran My Linh, officer of Nam Dinh provincial police.
These officers have undergone numerous pre-deployment training courses organised by the standing office of the Ministry of Public Security on UN peacekeeping operations, the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, as well as overseas training courses in Australia, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, and Italy.
The deployment reaffirms Vietnam's strong commitment to supporting the United Nations in its peacekeeping missions, contributing to preventing conflicts, and ensuring sustainable peace and security around the world.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, emphasised that this mission is not only a great honor but also a significant responsibility for the officers, who will represent the Vietnamese People’s Public Security Forces and the image of Vietnam in the international community.
Tung stressed the importance of the peacekeeping mission as a prestigious duty assigned by the Party, State, and Government of Vietnam. He called for continued efforts to raise public awareness and support for these activities and for the Ministry to strengthen its coordination and training programmes for officers participating in UN peacekeeping missions.
