Thailand, Vietnam boost parliamentary co-operation
VOV.VN - Bui Van Cuong, general secretary of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) and Chairman of the NA Office, held a working session with Arpath Sukhanunh, acting secretary general of the Thai House of Representatives, in Bangkok on December 7 as part of the occasion of NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s official visit to Thailand.
Both sides hailed the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on collaboration between the Vietnamese NA and the Thai House of Representatives, as well as between the Vietnamese NA Office and the Secretariat of the Thai House of Representatives.
The two documents will strive to create a legal foundation in which to continue elevating the two countries’ parliamentary co-operation to new heights, they affirmed.
Sukhanunh went on to state that his agency will work alongside the Secretariat and the Office of the Vietnamese NA when implementing contents of the two MoUs so as to contribute to further propelling mutual relations forward.
The two sides consented to consolidate and enhance bilateral collaboration through diverse forms, intensify the exchange of delegations to exchange information, and share experience in assisting the Vietnamese NA and the Thai House of Representatives, as well as further promoting capacity building.
