NA leader arrives in Thailand for official working visit
VOV.VN - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue arrived in Bangkok on December 7, beginning a four-day official visit to Thailand at the invitation of Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand Wan Muhamad Noor Matha.
Hue was welcomed at Don Mueang international airport by first Deputy Speaker of the Thai House of Representatives Padipat Suntipada, and many other Thai legislators and diplomats.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh and representatives of the Vietnamese community were also present at the welcoming ceremony.
Vietnam and Thailand established diplomatic ties in 1976, and bilateral relations have strongly developed since the early 1990s.
Thailand is the first country in ASEAN to establish a strategic partnership with Vietnam, and the two countries are actively implementing an action program to realise their enhanced strategic partnership for 2022 - 2027.
During his stay, Hue is scheduled to hold talks with the speaker of the Thai House of Representatives, meet with senior Thai leaders, and sign a cooperation document between the two countries’ legislative bodies.
He will deliver a policy speech at Chulakongkorn University, attend a policy and law forum to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation, and inaugurate the Vietnam - Thailand Chamber of Commerce.
The top legislator will also meet a number of large Thai businesses operating in Vietnam, and the Vietnamese business community in Thailand.
