State leader begins state visit to Laos
VOV.VN - President Luong Cuong arrived at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane on the afternoon of April 24, beginning a state visit to Laos at the invitation of General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President Thongloun Sisoulith.

He is accompanied by a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.
At the airport, the delegation was welcomed by Khemmani Pholsena, Minister and Chairwoman of the Lao Presidential Office; Atsaphangthong Siphandone, Mayor of Vientiane; a Lao Deputy Foreign Minister; Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh; and officials from the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy were also present to greet the delegation.
The visit takes place at a meaningful time as both nations are carrying out their Party congress resolutions and socio-economic development strategies, which have produced numerous encouraging outcomes. Bilateral cooperation has continued to thrive, with high-level agreements being effectively implemented and delivering important results across a wide range of spheres.

President Cuong’s visit is expected to further deepen the special Vietnam–Laos solidarity, while offering a platform for both sides to review past cooperation, discuss issues of mutual interest, and identify directions to enhance ties in the years ahead.
During his stay, President Cuong will attend an official welcome ceremony, hold talks with General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, and witness the signing of several cooperation agreements. He is also scheduled to meet with the Lao Prime Minister, the President of the Lao National Assembly, and former senior Lao leaders. His itinerary includes attending an official banquet, joining a Vietnam–Laos friendship event, visiting the Vietnamese Embassy, and meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Laos.
