President Luong Cuong meets founder of China’s MEBO International
VOV.VN - President Luong Cuong received Li Li, founder of China’s MEBO International, on the morning of October 30 in Gyeongju City, while attending the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and conducting bilateral activities in the Republic of Korea (RoK).
At the meeting, President Luong Cuong hailed MEBO International for its global success, particularly in regenerative medicine and healthcare, and welcomed the group’s expansion of investment in Vietnam, which contributes to strengthening the pharmaceutical supply chain and improving public health.
The President said Vietnam is now promoting economic restructuring and a shift in its growth model, diversifying economic sectors, and making science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation the main drivers of development in the new era.
Expressing her pleasure at meeting with President Luong Cuong, Li Li said MEBO International is a multinational biotechnology corporation operating in the fields of research, development, production, and marketing of plant-based pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, and health care products. The group is headquartered in both China and the US, with operations in more than 80 countries worldwide.
Starting from burn treatment, MEBO International has grown into a diversified conglomerate focusing on promoting the values of traditional Chinese medicine while integrating modern scientific achievements to better serve human health and well-being.
Regarding its operations in Vietnam, Li Li said MEBO International is cooperating with VCP Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to implement phase one of an investment project in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. The group is also considering launching additional projects in Vietnam in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare in the coming time.
The founder of MEBO International expressed a wish for support from the Vietnamese Government to soon establish an official presence, expand cooperation and investment, and make positive contributions to the development of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical and medical sectors.
Acknowledging the remarks of the MEBO Group leader, President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always facilitates foreign enterprises, including MEBO International, in accordance with Vietnamese laws and regulations, enabling them to invest and operate in the country effectively, sustainably, and for the long term.
Based on the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, particularly in the medical and pharmaceutical fields, the Vietnamese State leader expressed his hope that MEBO International’s investment and cooperation activities in Vietnam would further strengthen the bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries.
