President Luong Cuong arrives in RoK for APEC Economic Leaders’ Week
VOV.VN - President Luong Cuong and a Vietnamese high-level delegation arrived at the Gimhae Air Base Gimhae in Busan, the Republic of Korea (RoK) at 2:50 p.m (local time) on October 29, to attend the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week and conduct bilateral meetings at the invitation of President Lee Jae Myung.
Those welcoming President Luong Cuong and his entourage included Choi Hyung Chan, Director of the Korean Diplomatic Academy, and leaders of Busan city, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Vu Ho, Consul General Doan Phuong Lan, and staff from the Embassy and Consulate General of Vietnam in Busan.
Under the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow” and with three key priorities of Connectivity, Innovation, and Prosperity, the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week is expected to serve as a crucial forum for APEC leaders to maintain dialogue, strengthen trust, enhance cooperation, address economic and trade challenges, and promote innovation and sustainable development across the region.
Vietnam has actively contributed to sustaining APEC cooperation amid global economic integration challenges. The country has helped enrich and broaden APEC’s cooperation agenda, ensuring the forum adapts to evolving international circumstances in line with new global development trends. This underscores APEC’s essential role in boosting economic growth and regional integration in the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
The event also provides an opportunity for Vietnam to show its dynamic, deeply integrated economy and its commitment to regional objectives of Connectivity-Innovation-Prosperity, while affirming the country’s role as an active, responsible, and increasingly proactive member in shaping regional cooperation structures, paving the way for hosting APEC 2027.
On the bilateral front, with Vietnam-RoK relations at a high point, President Luong Cuong’s visit is designed to further consolidate and deepen the strong political foundation, accelerate the implementation of commitments and high-level agreements reached in recent years, and ensure that bilateral cooperation contributes effectively to each country’s development during this critical period.
During the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, the Vietnamese delegation is expected to meet with leaders from various APEC economies and top global business leaders, thereby strengthening bilateral ties and mobilizing resources to support Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
In particular, the President will attend, engage in dialogue, and deliver a key speech at the 2025 APEC CEO Summit, thus helping international partners continue to accompany, support, and stand alongside Vietnam in its new phase of development.
