Party official hosts President of Cambodian Senate Hun Sen

The meeting saw Cuong show his sincere thanks the CPP’s senior leaders, the King, the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Government of Cambodia for extending condolences and sending a high-ranking Cambodian delegation to attend the state funeral of the late leader. This therefore demonstrates the close-knit relationship that exists between the Parties, States, and people of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Cuong briefed the guests on the remarkable contributions made by General Secretary Trong to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, as well as to joint diplomatic ties and to Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos co-operation and solidarity.

He thanked Cambodia for its support and assistance offered to the Vietnamese side so far, affirming that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam will try their utmost to continue to realise the wishes of General Secretary Trong in preserving and fostering the traditional friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation between both sides, passing them on to future generations.

President Hun Sen applauded the great contributions made by the late Party leader to the country and people of Vietnam, especially in terms of elevating the Vietnamese position in the international arena and fostering the friendship between the two countries, thereby leaving valuable legacies for future generations to benefit from.

He said that the demise of the General Secretary represents a huge loss to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, as well as to the CPP and the people of Cambodia. The Cambodian President went on to affirm that Cambodia will always preserve and nurture the relationship between both nations' Parties, States, and people.
