Party Committees of NA, Government look into agenda of coming parliamentary session

Secretary of the Government's Party Committee and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Secretary of the National Assembly (NA)'s Party Committee and NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man co-chaired a conference between the standing boards of the two Party committees on April 22 to discuss the coming 9th session of the 15th NA.

In his remarks, NA Chairman Man said the 15th NA’s 9th session is scheduled to open on May 5, 2025, and will be divided into two phases to review and make decisions on a large number of issues, including many urgent and important matters that were recently agreed upon in principle by the Party Central Committee at its 11th meeting.

Regarding the proposed agenda for the 9th session, the NA Standing Committee has so far agreed to submit for the NA’s consideration and decision on matters within its constitutional authority; 45 legislative items; 14 groups of issues related to socio-economic development, the state budget, supervision, and other important matters; and eight groups of items to be submitted as reports to NA deputies.

For his part, PM Chinh highlighted the significance of the upcoming 9th session, while appreciating the close coordination of the NA in the preparation process for the event. He affirmed that the Government will make every effort, listen attentively, and seriously consider all opinions to ensure the best possible results for the session.

He emphasised the need to thoroughly understand and concretise the Party's guidelines into laws, creating a solid legal foundation for realising the country's development goals.

During the coming session, the Government will submit many important draft laws which will have great impact on people and businesses, helping promote decentralsation, reduce administrative procedures, remove obstacles for projects, and create growth motivation, Chinh said.

He also assured that the proposals to be presented to the NA have been carefully considered, with the national interests placed above all.

The PM said he believes that with the Party's leadership, the Government's unity, the NA’s consensus, and the people's support, the 9th session will be a great success.

In his closing remarks, NA Chairman Man acknowledged the close coordination between the Government, its agencies, and relevant bodies with the NA Standing Committee and NA agencies in preparing for the legislature's upcoming 9th session.

He stated that at the conference, both sides reached substantial agreement on various issues, demonstrating a spirit of cooperation and shared commitment to fulfilling the country's historic responsibilities.

Regarding draft laws and resolutions that the Government has proposed adding to the 9th session's agenda, Man requested the Standing Board of the Government’s Party Committee to direct relevant agencies to promptly complete documents for the NA’s bodies to review in April.

He also called for continued close coordination between the NA Standing Committee, the Government, and all relevant agencies to assure unified and high-quality contents before submission for the NA’s approval.

The top legislator emphasised strengthening the communications work before, during, and after the session to provide accurate information for NA deputies and voters in a timely manner, helping them understand and support the NA's decisions. Additionally, he laid stress on the need to popularise the significance of the apparatus streamlining revolution under the Party's leadership.
