NA leader attends signing ceremony of Vietjet Air- Lao Airlines cooperation deal
VOV.VN - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue witnessed a signing ceremony regarding comprehensive cooperation between the low-cost carrier Vietjet Air of Vietnam and the national airline of Laos, Lao Airlines right after his arrival in Vientiane on December 4.
At the ceremony, the opening of a new air route connecting Vientiane, Laos capital with Ho Chi Minh City were announced with the participation of NA Lao Vice Chairman Sounthone Xayachak and other leaders of both nations' ministries and agencies.
The signing ceremony between the tow arlines is considered an important milestone not only between the two businesses but also between Vietnam and Laos, two close neighbors with a tradition of cooperation and mutual development.
To meet the travel needs, Vietjet is set to operate flights connecting Laos’ Vientiane with Ho Chi Minh City, the leading economic and cultural center of Vietnam as of February 2024.
The new route is expected to serve passengers 4 round flights per week with a flight time of about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Vietjet's new route will contribute to promoting trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between the two countries, producing more good results in the traditional and close cooperative relationship between the two nations.
Vietjet and Lao Airlines, have become comprehensive partners in passenger and cargo transportation, in addition to expanding cooperation in technical activities, aircraft repair and maintenance, and training of aviation human resources.
Earlier, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue visited a maintenance workshop of Vietjet Air at Wattay airport in Vientiane.
