NA Chairman’s visit deepens trust between Vietnamese and Japanese lawmakers
VOV.VN - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man's ongoing visit to Japan from December from 3 to December 7 is expected to deepening the trusted relationship and mutual understanding between both nations’ legislators.
Soramoto Seiki, a member of the Japanese House of Representatives, made the statement in a recent media interview detailing the co-operative ties between the two legislatures, as well as the significance of NA leader Man to the relationship between the two countries.
Regarding the contributions made to the fruitful co-operation that exists between the Vietnamese NA and the Japanese Diet to the development of mutual relations, Seiki emphasized that people-to-people exchanges between the two countries is in its best period ever.
Along with intensifying people-to-people exchanges, Japanese legislators hope that the NA leader of both the Vietnamese and Japanese side will have in-depth discussions about industrial and scientific-technical co-operation.
This will contribute to the building of a prosperous nations in both Japan and Vietnam, whilst also serving as an impetus for their comprehensive strategic partnership to go further in the time ahead, he said, adding that many Vietnamese industries will see rapid and strong development.
The visit made by the Vietnamese legislator chairman takes place at the right point of time to anticipate this wave, with the move considerably helping with the realisation of many common goals of the countries.
According to Soramoto, the two parliaments have also been constantly strengthening the close-kinit relations that exist between their legislators. This has contributed to the unceasing development of all-round relations between the two countries, peaking with the establishment of the “comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world” in late 2023.
He hailed the two parliaments’ institutional and policy contributions to bilateral ties, with the two sides continuing co-ordinating towards substantive and effective partnerships across multiple areas ranging from economics to social security.
Japan has high expectations for the Vietnamese NA leader’s trip, he said, adding that legislators will unite to help both nations’ relations continue to grow and flourish.
With regard to economic and investment links, Soramoto noted that the signing of the Japan - Vietnam Economic Partnership Agreement (JVEPA) in 2009 has taken economic ties to new heights. Indeed, the Far East nation has been assisting the Vietnamese side in fields such as developing infrastructure and providing official development assistance (ODA).
In the current context, he suggested that to bolster co-operation, as well as people-to-people exchanges, the countries should strive to enhance training human resources.
Both countries have therefore sent experts and high-quality personnel to learn from and work with each other, with these efforts becoming extremely important. When the exchange of human resources turns more frequently, they should consider the signing of an agreement on bilateral social security co-operation and even greater visions for their collaboration to match the “strategic” status, he added.
In their policy and law making roadmaps, the two law-making bodies should work out measures aimed at creating legal foundations necessary in which to carry out those targets in the time to come, he emphasized.
Soramoto stated that he also has his own plans to ramp up Japanese co-operation with Vietnam. As such, he will continue make greater efforts with a view to boosting ties between the two legislative bodies and then strengthen connections between both nations’ relevant agencies to achieve the common goals.
