Leaders of Ministry of National Defence get ranks promoted

Two leaders of the Ministry of National Defence were promoted to higher ranks at a ceremony chaired by State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Presidential Place in Hanoi on July 12.

Accordingly, Minister of National Defence Phan Van Giang was promoted from the rank of Senior Lieutenant General to General, while Deputy Minister of National Defence Vu Hai San from Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General.

State President Phuc, Chairman of the National Defence and Security Council and commander of the armed forces, handed over their promotion decisions to the officials at the ceremony.

Congratulating Giang and San, he said both are well trained and experienced officials who have excellently completed their assigned tasks.

The leader requested the ministry and the two officers continue upholding the spirit of solidarity, making efforts to build a regular, elite and modern revolutionary people’s army and to work with relevant sectors in COVID-19 prevention and control.

Minister Giang pledged their serious and effective implementation of requests made by the State President.
