Egyptian locality seeks to expand co-operation with Vietnam
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Huy Dung held a working session on March 25 with Governor of Luxor Mustafa Mohamed Alham Khaled to discuss a range of measures aimed at beefing up co-operation between the two nations.
Both sides boast huge potential for collaboration in areas which both have strengths, such as agriculture, industry, garment and textiles, logistics, aquaculture, tourism, and the maritime economy. They are therefore stepping up efforts to elevate bilateral trade turnover to US$1 billion moving forward.
The two sides agreed that Luxor and Ninh Binh should review and add more content of co-operation in the friendship and co-operative agreement between the two localities, as well as swiftly renewing this document.
Ambassador Dung suggested that the Egyptian locality strive to boost its links with not only Ninh Binh, but also other Vietnamese localities.
Governor Khaled said he hopes that Luxor and Ninh Binh will augment ties in agriculture, education, and tourism. He also called on Vietnamese businesses to increase investment in industrial parks of Luxor.
The two proposed that the countries offer favourable conditions in which travel firms from both sides can operate and open representative offices and promote tourism promotion activities in each other's territories.
The same day saw the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and the Chamber of Commerce in Luxor jointly hold a seminar seeking to further enhance co-operative relations in areas of economics, trade, investment, tourism, culture, agriculture, and education between the two countries and their localities.
Ambassador Dung introduced the current Vietnamese economic situation and investment attraction policies, while calling on businesses from both countries to expand connections to better understand the market and seek opportunities for business co-operation.
Muhammad Yehia, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Luxor, suggested the two countries further strengthen liks in the areas of economics, trade, investment, tourism, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed his hope that Vietnamese businesses will therefore consider investing in industrial parks in Luxor.
