They stressed the need to facilitate market access for the two countries’ major products and seek business cooperation opportunities by diversifying product lines and ensuring interest balance of both sides.

They consented to promote consultation and cooperation to deal with traditional and non-traditional security challenges of mutual concern, such as preventing and combating terrorism and transnational crimes, and responding to climate change. Lam for his part highly valued Egypt’s prestige and position in the Middle East - North Africa, especially its role as a mediator in hot spots in the region such as the Israel-Hamas conflict, the war in Sudan, and the civil war in Yemen. He affirmed Vietnam’s policy of strengthening the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with African countries, including Egypt.

While staying in Egypt, Lam called at the Vietnamese Embassy in Cairo and met with representatives of Vietnamese expatriates in their host country.
