Vietnam showcases 80-year development achievements in largest-ever exhibition
VOV.VN - An exhibition showcasing Vietnam’s 80-year journey of national construction and development across key sectors opened at the National Exposition Centre on the outskirts of Hanoi on August 28.

Party General Secretary To Lam and many other senior Party and State leaders attended the inauguration ceremony.
Themed “80 Years of Journey: Independence – Freedom – Happiness” the exhibition, the largest of its kind ever held in Vietnam in the leadup to the grand celebration of Vietnam’s 80th National Day (September 2, 1945 - 2025), features the participation from all 34 provinces and cities, 28 ministries and sectors, 106 state-owned and private enterprises, with over 230 exhibition booths.
On display are major development achievements of all key sectors such as industry and technology, investment and trade, agriculture and rural development, national defence and security, foreign affairs, health care and education, culture–sports–tourism, and digital transformation.
In addition to highlighting achievements, the exhibition has spaces that recreate Vietnam’s 4,000-year cultural traditions, celebrating the distinct identities of 54 ethnic groups, iconic architectural works, the diversity of regional specialties, and emerging industries such as green transition, aerospace, defence industry, and cultural industries.
The exhibition is divided into three main zones – the general exhibition zone themed Vietnam – A Journey to A New Era; the outdoor exhibition zone themed Integration and Development; and the International and Cultural Industries Zone themed Integration and Innovation.

The exhibition not only honours the nation’s glorious historical journey but also spreads patriotism, national pride, and the aspiration to rise, affirming Vietnam’s potential and position on the path of renewal, integration, and development, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the opening ceremony.
He described the exhibition as a “living classroom” where younger generations can better understand their roots, appreciate the immense sacrifices and achievements of their forebears, and draw inspiration from the nation’s journey.
It is through this reflection, he said, that a deeper sense of purpose and patriotism can be nurtured, fueling the aspiration to lead Vietnam confidently into a new era of strength, prosperity, civility, and global prominence, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world’s powers.
“We hope and firmly believe that, under the leadership of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam, and building on the legacy of 80 years of national construction, defence, and development, our entire political system, sectors, localities, and the entire Vietnamese people will continue to uphold the spirit of unity and determination to successfully realise the two strategic centennial goals set by the Party,” emphasised the Prime Minister.

The exhibition, held at the National Exposition Centre, spans over 900,000 square metres, with 304,000 square metres of indoor space. It is ranked among the top 10 largest exhibition centres in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia.
The exhibition is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from August 29 through September 5.
