VFF delegates pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh ahead of congress

VOV.VN - Delegates to the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on May 11 paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi ahead of the opening of the congress.

The delegation was led by Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary and President of the VFF Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai.

The delegates laid a wreath and paid respects to the great president before offering incense in commemoration of fallen heroes and martyrs on Bac Son Street.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation expressed deep gratitude for President Ho Chi Minh’s immense contributions to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause and particularly his role in founding the national united front, now Vietnam Fatherland Front. His ideas on national united front serve as the core ideological foundation, guiding the building of the great national unity bloc today.

The commemorative activities took place as preparations are underway for the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026–2031 term.

The congress is regarded as a major political and social event following the success of the 14th National Party Congress and the election of the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils for the new term.

Held under the theme “Unity – Democracy – Innovation – Creativity – Development,” the congress is expected to outline key objectives and action programmes for the next term while reinforcing the VFF’s political core role in strengthening national solidarity and promoting patriotic traditions.

The event also marks the beginning of a new development phase for the Vietnam Fatherland Front after the restructuring and consolidation of socio-political organisations and mass associations under the Front system.

According to the agenda, the congress will hold its preparatory session later the same day at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi.
