PM outlines key orientations for investment ministry in 2025

VOV.VN - The Prime Minister outlined several key directions for the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to achieve its core objectives in 2025 amidst the ongoing complexities and challenges in the global and regional contexts, at a year-end review meeting of the MPI in Hanoi on December 28.

It was reported at the meeting that in 2024 the MPI provided consultations and made recommendations to overcome challenges, promote production and business activities, accelerate public investment disbursement, and ensure social security, along with developing growth scenarios, seizing recovery opportunities, and creating new momentum for the country's economic development.

Notably, it promptly conducted research, monitored and evaluated situation, and made accurate forecast, helping the Government to introduce viable solutions to address challenges and achieve objectives on economic growth, public investment disbursement, digital transformation, innovation, and enterprise development.

Speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister commended the MPI’s efforts and significant achievements, making an important contribution to the country’s socio-economic development accomplishments in 2024.

In 2025, he said the global and regional situation is expected to remain highly complex and unpredictable, while domestically, challenges and difficulties will outweigh opportunities and advantages.

To accelerate progress, achieve breakthroughs, and fulfill the goals set for 2025 and the entire 2021–2025 term, the Prime Minister outlined major pioneering areas for the ministry, saying the MPI should proactively monitor and analyze the domestic and international economic landscape to provide timely and effective policy recommendations, ensuring the country's economic stability and growth.

He asked the MPI to press ahead with spearheading the development and refinement of institutions and policies to create a conducive environment for socio-economic development, while attracting investment, and fostering innovation.

The MPI should place a strong emphasis on enhancing the efficiency of public investment, accelerating the disbursement of public funds, and ensuring that key infrastructure projects are implemented promptly to stimulate economic growth, he suggested.

According to the PM, the ministry should lead efforts in restructuring the economy, promoting sustainable development, and transitioning to a growth model that leverages technology, innovation, and high-quality human resources.

Last but not least, the government leader asked the ministry to improve the quality of statistical data and forecasting to support effective policy-making and economic management.

He expected that in the face of numerous challenges, the MPI would continue to play a leading role in advising and implementing policies, maintaining a spirit of innovation, creativity, and determination while working alongside other ministries, sectors, and localities to achieve the development goals set for 2025.
