PM inspects Long Thanh International Airport project progress
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 3 visited southern Dong Nai province to inspect the progress of the Long Thanh International Airport project and the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project.
Long Thanh International Airport is the largest airport project in Vietnam’s history and is of significant importance to socio-economic development of the Southeast region and the entire country.
With the decisive direction of the Prime Minister and the active engagement of relevant ministries, local authorities, and related agencies, significant progress has been made in the Long Thanh International Airport project.
The project’s key components are progressing well and are on track to meet the deadline for completion by September 2, 2026.
During the inspection, the Prime Minister visited various construction sites, the passenger terminal, cargo terminal, maintenance area, aircraft parking areas, internal port traffic urging contractors to expedite their work and complete any delayed sub-projects.
He also set a goal for all related projects to be completed by December 31, 2025, with the airport operational by February 28, 2026. He underlined the importance of quality, safety, and strict timelines, calling for diligent work, including through holidays, to meet the set objectives.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the need for strong collaboration between various sectors to ensure the successful completion of all related sub-projects, including the completion of the surrounding infrastructure like roads, metro systems, and railway connections. He called for focused efforts to overcome challenges in land clearance and to push ahead with the construction of the airport city, including the development of a smart and modern Long Thanh city.
This marks the fifth time that Prime Minister Chinh has conducted an on-site inspection of the Long Thanh International Airport project in three years.
