Patriotism, unity and dedication – key to Vietnam’s prosperous future, says President

VOV.VN - As Vietnam is confidently moving into a new era, the lessons of patriotism, solidarity, and selfless dedication from past generations continue to hold true, President Luong Cuong has affirmed.

Addressing a meeting between Party and State leaders and outstanding representatives of the people organised by the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi on August 24, President Luong Cuong emphasised the historical significance of September 2, 1945 at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi where President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, marking the beginning of a new era of independence, freedom, and socialism.

According to the President, the country’s achievements in the struggle for national liberation and reunification, as well as in building and defending the nation today, rely on multiple factors, among which unity is the key.

“We must build and maximise the strength of the great national unity bloc,” stressed the president, citing President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching that “the people are the root, and in times of ease, the people endure, in times of difficulty, the people can manage everything.”

He highlighted that the Vietnam Fatherland Front plays a crucial role in bringing together patriotic forces and transforming the people’s latent strength into real power, contributing to all revolutionary victories.

The President also emphasised the important role of all social classes, ethnic groups, religious communities, and overseas Vietnamese, while expressing gratitude for the contributions of workers, farmers, and intellectuals that are the political and social pillars of the great national unity bloc.

Entering the new era, Vietnam faces significant opportunities as well as challenges. Therefore, the President called for a strong promotion of patriotism, intelligence, and the nation’s aspiration to rise, honouring the roles of workers, farmers, intellectuals, ethnic groups, religious communities, entrepreneurs, and overseas Vietnamese.

He stressed that, in the journey toward a prosperous, strong, and happy nation, the lessons of patriotism, unity, and dedication from previous generations remain fully relevant. He expressed hope that the conference delegates would continue to serve as shining examples, contributing their intellect, experience, and dedication to national development and defence.

He also urged the Vietnam Fatherland Front to continue playing its central role in strengthening the great national unity bloc, constantly innovating its operations to gather all forces, thereby fostering patriotism, self-reliance, development aspirations, social trust and consensus, and fully mobilising the people’s intelligence and resources in building and firmly defending the Socialist state.
