Special programme honours Vietnam’s legacy, unity and enduring spirit

VOV.VN - A special national political–art programme “Under the Glorious Flag” took place simultaneously in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City to honour the country’s history and tradition, pay tribute to predecessors, and inspire national pride and revolutionary ideals.

The event, directed by the Central Military Commission and hosted by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, was held to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

At the venues, Party General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, along with leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, and Government, attended the programme.

Blending symphonic and light music, rock, rap, contemporary dance, and modern stage technology, the programme recreated 80 years of the glorious history of the Party, the Fatherland, the People, and the Vietnam People’s Army. Stirring anthems, choral performances, historical re-enactments, and moving documentaries honoured the fighting spirit and sacrifices of generations of Vietnamese soldiers, from battles defending every inch of land to missions of peacekeeping and nation-building.

Real-life stories, such as the recollections of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Colonel La Van Cau and the heartfelt words of Nguyen Thi Xun – wife of martyr Tran Van Kinh – vividly portrayed the steadfast, selfless spirit of the soldiers who devoted their lives to the people.

The programme carried a powerful message that the beauty of present-day Vietnam is built upon its historical traditions and the priceless sacrifices of countless generations. Under the glorious flag, the Vietnamese people pledge unity and determination in their journey toward the future. The Vietnam People’s Army stands as a steadfast pillar of the Party, the State, and the People—an enduring symbol of the nation’s spirit.
