Party leader To Lam launches tree planting festival in Hung Yen

The ceremony was held in celebration of the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - 2025) and in response to president Ho Chi Minh’s launch of the Tree Planting Festival (November 28, 1959 - 2025). The festival has since become a widespread public movement and a beautiful tradition in Vietnamese culture.

At the launching ceremony, the leaders of Hung Yen reported that since 2022, more than 126,000 trees have been planted across the province. In 2024 alone, over 38,400 trees were planted, forming 185 new green-lined streets.

Green tree planting has been actively promoted in urban areas, industrial parks, rural residential areas, schools, hospitals, government offices, and historical-cultural sites, they said.  

Along with community tree planting efforts, areas designated for agricultural restructuring have focused on planting specific types of trees to create green, clean, and beautiful landscapes. These efforts have significantly contributed to environmental protection and increased the economic value of agricultural production.

In the coming time, they said, Hung Yen aims to expand tree coverage along roads throughout the province, so as to meet advanced rural development criteria at the commune, district, and provincial levels. It will continue to care for already planted trees to maintain green, clean, and beautiful landscapes, while strengthening inspection, guidance, and supervision to ensure localities, agencies, and businesses implement tree planting plans effectively.
