Party Central Committee fires ranking members for rule violations

VOV.VN - The Party Central Committee (PCC) in its plenum in Hanoi on August 3 decided to fire a number of its members for rule violations.

According to a communique released by the Party Central Committee’s Office, the Party Central Committee examined resignation letters of a number of PCC members on August 3 afternoon, with newly elected General Secretary To Lam in the chair.

Among those who had submitted their resignation letters were Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai; Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh; Secretary of the Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Ky, and Secretary of Tuyen Quang provincial Party Committee Chau Van Lam

The four officials were members of the Party Central Committee. Khai was also Secretary of the Party Central Committee.

Through inspections, the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission found that the four officials had violated the Party’s regulations regarding their responsibility in carrying out assigned duties, and their exemplary role as leaders in the fight against corruption and negativity.

Examining relevant agencies’ reports and the resignation letters, the Party Central Committee agreed to let those officials no longer hold any positions in the Party.
