National Assembly to decide on key personnel appointments on Nov. 10
VOV.VN - The National Assembly is scheduled to hold a closed session on the morning of November 10 to discuss and make decisions regarding key personnel appointments as part of its ongoing year-end sitting agenda.
During its recent 14th plenum, the Party Central Committee discussed and gave opinions on candidates for several senior positions, including the Permanent Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly and the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court for the 2021–2026 term for the Politburo to nominate to the National Assembly for election in accordance with regulations.
According to the procedure, once elected, the new Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court will take an oath of office before the National Assembly. The ceremony will be broadcast live for voters and citizens nationwide to follow.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly will hold a plenary discussion on the draft Law on Population and the Law on Disease Prevention, with the Minister of Health providing explanations and clarifications on issues raised by deputies.
Throughout the week, the National Assembly will also hear and deliberate on proposals for several draft laws, including amendments to the Law on Citizen Reception, the Law on Complaints, the Law on Denunciations, the Law on Investment, and the Law on Drug Prevention and Control.
Lawmakers are expected to debate draft revisions to a wide range of legislation regarding civil judgment enforcement, judicial expertise, criminal judgment enforcement, temporary detention and custody, civil aviation, construction, e-commerce, public employees, deposit insurance, and prices.
The National Assembly is set to pass several key resolutions this week, including a resolution on the 2026 socio-economic development plan, a resolution on the 2026 state budget estimates, and a resolution on the allocation of the central budget for 2026.
In addition, the National Assembly will hold a separate session to hear the President’s report proposing the ratification of an international agreement in the field of foreign affairs, which will be discussed in the plenary session on November 14.
