National Assembly closes landmark session with record votes on laws
VOV.VN - The National Assembly is expected to vote on a record number of laws and resolutions on December 11, the final day of its year-end session, in what would be the busiest legislative sitting in its history.
During the final morning session, lawmakers will review explanatory reports, final amendments and passed 20 draft laws, including revisions to the Bankruptcy Law, Investment Law, the Law on Urban and Rural Planning, the Value-Added Tax Law, the National Reserve Law, and a new Law on Digital Transformation.
The legislature will also approve amendments to 15 laws in the agriculture and environment sectors, and updates to the Law on Geology and Minerals and the Law on Specialised Courts in the International Financial Centre.
More than 10 draft resolutions will also be adopted, covering pilot mechanisms for major projects in Hanoi, adjustments to special policies for Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, and investment decisions for key national programmes. These include the national target programmes on health care, population and development, rural development, poverty reduction and support for ethnic minority and mountainous areas for 2026–2035, as well as investment policies for Gia Binh International Airport and the Vinh–Thanh Thuy expressway.
Lawmakers also approve a resolution aimed at removing obstacles in the implementation of the Land Law, along with policies guiding national energy development for 2026–2030 and new measures to strengthen public health care.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly will convene its closing session to approve the resolution summarising the 2021–2026 term of state institutions, including the President, Government, Supreme People’s Court, Supreme People’s Procuracy and State Audit Office.
The 10th session lasted 40 working days, the longest of the 15th National Assembly, and is regarded as the legislature’s most demanding session to date in terms of lawmaking workload.
