Leaders honour social policy beneficiaries on War Invalids and Martyrs Day

VOV.VN - Marking the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – 2025), many Vietnamese leaders on July 25 visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families and those who rendered great services to the revolution.

In Ca Mau province, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited and offered gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers Ma Thi Kich and Le Thi Chi, and war invalids Hua Van Su, Huynh Van Trung, and Dang Minh Thoi.

At each stop, the Vice President extended her warm regards and deep appreciation for the sacrifices of these individuals. She emphasised that the contributions of previous generations are the foundation for the country’s current independence and development. She called on every official and citizen to continue building a prosperous and strong homeland worthy of those sacrifices.

In Ninh Binh province, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyễn Thị Thanh visited and gave gifts to families with meritorious service in Quynh Luu and Phu Long communes.

She recalled that 78 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh designated July 27 as a day for the entire Party, people, and army to express deep gratitude to those who sacrificed for national independence and people’s happiness. Since then, the day has become a sacred symbol of the Vietnamese moral value of “Remembering the source while drinking the water.”

The Vice Chairwoman praised Ninh Bình for effectively implementing gratitude policies, mobilising various resources to improve the lives of those with meritorious service. This year, over 100,000 gifts worth more than VND70 billion were distributed across the province, demonstrating the deep respect and appreciation of the provincial Party, administration, and people.

On this occasion, she presented 216 gifts in Quynh Luu commune, 200 gifts in Phu Long, and 100 gifts to the Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers.

In Khanh Hoa province, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung led a Government delegation to visit and present gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and policy families in the province. He also visited the Khanh Hoa Centre for Rehabilitation and Care for People with Meritorious Services, which currently supports 5,668 beneficiaries who receive monthly allowances.

Khanh Hoa has actively implemented policies for people with meritorious service. The Department of Home Affairs regularly coordinates with local authorities and the Fatherland Front at the district level to resolve entitlements and organise meaningful patriotic education activities for the younger generation.

These include visits and gift-giving during the Lunar New Year, War Invalids and Martyrs Day, and other national holidays; health support for beneficiaries; presentation of savings books; and housing repairs. These efforts have contributed to raising awareness and improving the quality of life for those who made sacrifices for the nation.
