Lawmakers hold extraordinary session in Hanoi
VOV.VN - The National Assembly is to convene a three-day extraordinary session in Hanoi, starting on January 15, to decide on a number of important issues.
Lawmakers are expected to consider and approve the revised Land Law - a legal document that has a great impact on the country’s socio-economic development, national security and defense as well as on people’s lives.
The bill was tabled for discussions at the recent year-end session of the National Assembly, but it was yet to be passed due to lawmakers’ different opinions.
After being revised, the bill has 16 chapters and 260 articles, five articles fewer than the original. Competent agencies amended and supplemented 250 articles compared to the draft submitted to the National Assembly at the recent session.
Among the revised issues, the agencies completed provisions on the rights and obligations regarding land use of Vietnamese people residing abroad, and the transfer of real estate projects of an economic organization with foreign investment capital.
The lawmakers are also expected to approve the Law on Credit Institutions (amended), and a resolution on a number of specific mechanisms and policies for National Target Programmes.
They will also debate public investment plans with capital sourced from the State budget.
