Vietnam’s 80th National Day celebrated in Cairo, Egypt
VOV.VN - The Embassy of Vietnam in Egypt solemnly held a ceremony on the evening of September 29 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).

The celebration was attended by a large number of staff from the Vietnamese Embassy and other Vietnamese agencies in Egypt, members of the Vietnamese community, representatives of the Egyptian government, and ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from more than 40 countries in Cairo.
In his address at the function, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong emphasised the historical significance and global importance of the August 1945 Revolution, which overthrew colonial rule in Vietnam, and of the Declaration of Independence by President Ho Chi Minh on September 2, 1945, founding the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
He expressed sincere and heartfelt gratitude to international friends who have stood by and supported the Vietnamese people over the past eight decades, both during the struggle for national independence and in the country’s ongoing development and integration efforts.

Taking the floor, Ambassador Amr Hamza, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, extended warm congratulations to the Government and people of Vietnam on their remarkable achievements in national liberation, unification, economic development, and international integration.
He expressed strong confidence in the growing and time-honoured friendship between Egypt and Vietnam, noting bilateral relations would flourish even further following the historic visit of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong to Egypt last August. During that visit, he said, both sides agreed to elevate their relations to a Comprehensive Partnership, opening new opportunities and significant potential for cooperation in all areas.
At the ceremony, the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt introduced the UN Convention against Cybercrime, which will be opened for signature at a high-level conference in Hanoi this October.
