Vietnamese State President welcomed in Bangkok for Thailand visit, APEC summit
VOV.VN - State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his entourage arrived in Bangkok around midday November 16, beginning an official visit to Thailand and activities of the 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting till November 19.
A plane carrying the President, his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation touched down at Don Muang Royal Thai Air Force base in Bangkok at 11:30.
They were welcomed at the airport by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha with a 21-cannon salute.
The official welcoming ceremony will be hosted by the Thai Prime Minister at the Government building in the afternoon.
The two leaders will then hold talks, witness the signing of a number of cooperation documents and meet with media workers on the outcomes of their talks.
During his visit, the Vietnamese President is scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to the King and Queen of Thailand, and meet with several senior Thai leaders, including National Assembly chief Chuan Leekpai and leaders of both houses of the legislature.
The State leader will also attend a meeting with businesses of the two countries, an opening ceremony of the Vietnam Product Week in Thailand, along with other activities.
After the visit, he will join other leaders of the APEC economies at their 29th summit in Bangkok.
