Vietnam welcomes US objective assessment of anti-human trafficking efforts
VOV.VN - Vietnam welcomes the United States’ objective assessment of the positive results it has achieved in combating human trafficking, while expressing a desire to continue close cooperation with the US on this issue.

The statement was made by Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Pham Thu Hang at the regular press briefing on October 16, in response to reporters’ questions regarding the US Department of State’s 2025 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report.
Hang said Vietnam has been actively implementing measures under the National Anti-Human Trafficking Programme for the period 2021-2026, with a vision through 2030. One of the key highlights of these efforts is the passage of the 2024 Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control, alongside enhanced investigations, prosecutions, and trials of related cases, as well as providing support for victims.
The spokesperson also noted that Vietnam is working to fulfill the goals of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration (GCM), as outlined in the plan issued by the Prime Minister in 2020. This includes creating a transparent migration environment, protecting the rights and legal interests of migrants, and preventing the risks of human trafficking in international migration activities.
In the spirit of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Vietnam wishes to continue its close cooperation with the United States, promoting dialogue and information exchange to assess comprehensively, objectively, and positively Vietnam’s efforts and achievements in combating human trafficking, she said.
