Vietnam-Thailand strong bond reaffirmed
The strong bond between Thailand and Vietnam was reaffirmed during a meeting between President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand Wan Muhamad Noor Matha and Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Viet Hung in Bangkok on July 15.
Wan Noor highly valued the friendship and strategic partnership with Vietnam, which is flourishing as the two countries approach the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2026.
He highlighted the close collaboration between their respective legislatures, citing the existing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed by the Vietnamese NA and the Thai House of Representatives, as well as the Office of the Vietnamese NA and the Secretariat of the Thai House of Representatives.
Congratulating Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements, he thanked the Vietnamese Government for facilitating Thai investments in the country. As there remains vast potential for bilateral cooperation across various sectors, he expressed wish to visit Vietnam at a convenient time in the near future.
Hung, for his part, acknowledged Thailand as not only a close neighbour but also one of the most important partners of Vietnam. He expressed his strong commitment to fostering the development of strategic partnership between the two countries.
He wished that the Thai NA and its members would support and facilitate Thai investments in Vietnam, promote balanced and mutually beneficial trade, and enhance people-to-people exchanges.
The guest concluded by voicing his hope for a Vietnam visit by Wan Noor in the near future.
