On this occasion, the Vietnamese minister proposed that the Office of the United States Trade Representative continue strengthening bilateral consultations to discuss current issues and specific areas of cooperation. He also called for support in capacity building, professional exchanges and experience sharing for officers of the Ministry of Public Security, as well as assistance in providing facilities and equipment to combat transnational crime, including intellectual property infringement.
For his part, Switzer affirmed that the United States is always ready to work closely with Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies to effectively address economic and trade issues of mutual concern, contributing practical benefits to the governments, businesses and people of both countries.
