Vietnam and Czech Republic share urban development experience
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi recently paid a working visit to the Czech Republic to share experience in the fields of urban planning, construction, and architecture.
During a working session with Czech Deputy Minister of Regional Development Radim Srsen in Prague on September 4, Nghi briefed his host on Vietnam’s recent development achievements as well as challenges, including those resulting from the rapid pace of urbanization.
The rapid pace of urbanization presents numerous challenges for urban planning, investment in urban infrastructure, and housing development, particularly for low-income earners, he said.
He expected that the Czech Republic, through its actual experience in the field, would share its experience in urban planning and management, architectural control in urban areas, urban planning execution plans, and the organization of decentralization and delegation in urban planning.
Srsen for his part welcomed Nghi’s visit and briefed his guest on the Czech Republic’s experience in urban planning management and implementation at the national, provincial, and district levels, as well as the management and policies regarding housing development for low-income earners.
He suggested that the two sides would increase cooperation and exchange in the fields of urban planning, architecture, and housing development for low-income earners through meetings. He also hoped for increased activities to further deepen the traditional friendship and cooperative relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in the lead up to the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025.
