Top Party leader receives Mongolian President in Hanoi
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on November 1 received Mongollian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh who arrived in Hanoi on the same day for a five-day State visit to Vietnam.
Trong welcomed Khurelsukh’s visit which he believed would help foster the traditional friendship between the two countries, especially when both sides are planning activities to celebrate 70 years of their diplomacy in 2024.
He briefed his guest on the tremendous and comprehensive achievements that Vietnam has recorded in implementing its Renewal process as well as its open foreign policy over the past 35 years.
The Party leader welcomed spoke highly of the results of the talks between President Vo Van Thuong and President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh that took place in Hanoi on November 1, and discussed with the guest a number of major directions to bring the two countries’ relations to new heights.
He suggested that the two sides increase exchanges between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the ruling Mongolian People’s Party to strengthen comprehensive cooperation for the benefit of the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability and prosperity of the region and the wider world.
President Khurelsukh for his part congratulated Vietnam’s recent development achievements, and expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnam would successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
Mongolia always cherishes the good traditional friendship between the two countries, and considers Vietnam a leading partner in Southeast Asia, he said.
He welcomed his host’ proposals and assured that Mongolia would work closely together with Vietnam to take bilateral relations to new heights.
