Mongolian President arrives in Hanoi, begins State visit to Vietnam
VOV.VN - Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and his spouse arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on November 1, beginning a State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Vo Van Thuong.
Khurelsukh is being accompanied by Vice Chairwoman of the State Great Khural (parliament) Saldan Odontuya, Chief of the President Office Yangug Sodbaatar, Minister of Foreign Affairs Batmunkh Battsetseg, National Security Council Secretary Jadamba Enkhbayar; National Assembly Member, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industries Khayangaa Bolorchuluun, and others.
Khurelsukh and his entourage were welcomed at the airport by many Vietnamese and Mongolian officials, including head of the President Office Le Khanh Hai and Mongolian Ambassador to Vietnam Jigjee Sereejav.
During his five-day stay, Khurelsukh will hold talks with Thuong and meet with other senior Vietnamese leaders to discuss measures to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
He will also attend several important events, including a Vietnam – Mongolia business forum.
Vietnam and Mongolia established diplomatic ties November 17, 1954, and bilateral relations have been strengthened over the years through a regular exchange of delegations and cooperation mechanisms.
Two-way trade between the two countries reached US$85 million in 2022, and the figure is expected to keep rising in coming years as there is still much room for both sides to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Both countries have signed a number of cooperation documents in the fields of economy, trade, culture, agriculture, immigration management. They are now working on new agreements, including an agreement on investment
