Top legislator Tran Thanh Man arrives in Malaysia for AIPA-46, official visit
VOV.VN - A high-level Vietnamese delegation led by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man arrived in Kuala Lumpur on the afternoon on September 16, beginning their trip to attend the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) and to pay an official visit to Malaysia.

They were welcomed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Tan Sri Mohamed, Deputy President of the Malaysian Senate, and representatives of the AIPA Malaysia Organising Committee. Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Đinh Ngọc Linh and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia were also on hand.
Chairman Man’s participation in AIPA-46 demonstrates Vietnam’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, and development, while promoting diversification and multilateralisation of relations. It further affirms Vietnam’s proactive and active engagement in creating shared interests, building trust, and fostering dialogue through Party, State, and people-to-people diplomacy.
Meanwhile, the official visit to Malaysia reaffirms Vietnam’s consistent policy of attaching importance to relations with neighbouring countries and ASEAN partners, including Malaysia, one of Vietnam’s leading economic partners. The visit also underscores Vietnam’s recognition of Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair 2025 and AIPA-46 Chair, and its commitment to working with Malaysia and other ASEAN members to build a strong, inclusive, and sustainable ASEAN Community while consolidating ASEAN’s centrality in the regional architecture.
During the visit, Chairman Man is expected to hold important meetings and talks with the President of the Malaysian Senate, the Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, and other senior Malaysian leaders. These activities will provide an opportunity for both sides to further consolidate strategic trust and expand inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
