National Assembly Chairman departs for AIPA-46 and official visit to Malaysia
VOV.VN - A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, left Hanoi on September 16 for the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) at the invitation of Malaysian House of Representatives Speaker and AIPA-46 President Dato’ Johari Bin Abdul.

NA Chairman will then also pay an official visit to Malaysia from September 16 to 20, at the invitation of President of the Malaysian Senate Dato’ Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.
The top legislator’s participation in AIPA-46 reaffirms the National Assembly of Vietnam’s commitment to actively engaging in and contributing to strengthening AIPA’s role in maintaining peace, stability, and cooperation in the region, advancing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, and enhancing ASEAN’s centrality.
Vietnam also supports Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair 2025 and AIPA-46 President, while working closely with other ASEAN member states to promote inclusive and sustainable growth. It will further mainstream and advance its priorities and initiatives, particularly in cybersecurity, new energy, and the digital economy, linking its national development goals with ASEAN’s shared agenda.
This marks Chairman Man’s first official visit to Malaysia since the two countries elevated their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in November 2024. The visit is expected to deepen bilateral parliamentary cooperation, creating a solid legal framework for the governments and business communities of both countries to foster stronger collaboration.
